Housecall Pro reference plans and QuoteIQ’s main pricing page provide starting figures, but neither removes the need to confirm your actual configuration. QuoteIQ also has inconsistencies between current pricing and some help content.
The decision that matters
Housecall Pro lists QuickBooks Online on Essentials; QuoteIQ lists QuickBooks on Pro. Check the exact accounting edition and sync behaviour. For recurring or self-service booking, ask to see the complete customer journey in the precise paid tier being quoted.
Housecall Pro
Shortlist Housecall Pro when you want to examine home-service workflows such as job costing, dispatch and recurring service plans. Its published reference tiers make a useful budget starting point, but obtain a trade-specific quote before deciding.

Consider QuoteIQ when evaluating entry-level quoting and invoicing or its higher-tier workflows. Treat its public-page inconsistencies as questions to resolve, not as a reason to assume the most generous interpretation.

Use one demonstration script
Create a customer, schedule a visit, assign the work, issue a quote, record the completed job and send an invoice. Then change something: reschedule the visit, correct the address or record a partial payment. Note the required tier, any extra charges and the steps staff need to learn.
Before choosing, ask for the regular renewal price and an export of the sample records. If either product cannot demonstrate a must-have workflow, treat that as a real limitation even if its subscription is cheaper.
